Hard Rock to Invest in One of The Largest Casino Resorts in Europe
Hard Rock International has the green light for the contruction of one of the largest resort casinos in Europe. With an estimated investment of €600m for the first phase, the plan details a 500-room hotel and a 1,200-slot and 100-game table casino.
The project is set to create 11,500 jobs.
On June 30, Hard Rock International formally submitted their application for a license to build the Hard Rock Entertainment World, a project once known as Barcelona World.
The project's main goal is to create a complex that includes “a unique combination of hotels and convention areas, with world-class entertainment, dinning and shopping.”
Now that the green light for the construction has been given, the company has presented the first details for the development of this unique Centre for Recreation and Tourism in Catalonia, Spain.
Although the total investment for the project is estimated to ascend the €2,000 million mark, the first phase will be The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona, which set to require an investment of no less than €600m.
The theme park PortAventura will partner with the company to have a “family-oriented” 500-room hotel in the shape of the company’s iconic guitar.
Additionally, casino enthusiasts will be able to try their luck in what will be one of the largest casinos in Europe, with 1,200 slot machines and 100 tables. The visitors will be able also to relax and enjoy a 75-store shopping mall, which will be part of a collaboration with the company Value Retail.
Benefits are expected to come not only come for guests but also for the region. Hard Rock International estimates the project will create to create approximately 11,500 between direct and indirect new jobs and an economic impact of more than €1.4 million. It is also expected to attract direct financing from foreign investors.
